Elba Emicente Sanchez is a Mexican lighting artist and designer based in Austin, Texas, specializing in dance, theater, music, opera, and live performance. She holds an M.F.A. in Design from UC San Diego. Her selected lighting design credits include work with Cygnet Theatre (San Diego, CA), Kallisti Ensemble (San Diego, CA), the Cohen New Works Festival (UT Austin) and Georgetown Palace Theatre (Georgetown, TX), among others. Through her performance work, she continues to celebrate and elevate culturally resonant narratives from the Latinx community.She currently serves as Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.
